If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with Epilepsy, you probably have many questions and concerns. Epilepsy Durham Region is here to help you. We offer support and information for people living with Epilepsy, their family, caregivers and friends. We are committed to responding to your needs, whether you are living with Epilepsy yourself or your life has been touched in some way by this invisible disease.

In Ontario, there are approximately 1 in 100 people who live with Epilepsy. This means that over 6,800 people in Durham Region are living with this disease. As the population of those with Epilepsy has grown, employers and businesses have come to understand the benefits of knowing the appropriate way to respond to a seizure in the workplace. It is clear that a well-educated workplace is beneficial to both the employers and the employees.

 

Getting and keeping a job can sometimes be challenging for a person. Employment-related workshops, in-service presentations, and support are avaialble. If you experience employment concerns, you can protect yourself from employment discrimination by learning about your rights.
