Creating your own event enables you, your business and community groups to join in the new wave to change the face of Epilepsy by organizing events that are fun and meaningful to you. Your event is independent of our agency initiatives, and enables you to become a proud supporter and 'change the face of Epilepsy forever'. Holding your own event is a great way to build community spirit and raise awareness for Epilepsy Durham Region. We can't make the change all by ourselves, we need your help!

Walk Graphic Annual Walk for Epilepsy

Our Walk for Epilepsy is an opportunity to increase critical awareness about Epilepsy, rally together, and raise money to continue our fight to END STIGMA and ensure that there is support for people touched by Epilepsy in Durham Region. The Walk for Epilepsy is a fun family day bringing together a large cross-section of people, representing our years of commitment to people with Epilepsy and their families.

Walkers include those living with seizures and their caregivers; staff and volunteers; corporate walking teams; and, of course, members of the general public who want to join the fight to raise awareness. 1 in 100 people live with Epilepsy, and we invite you to lace up your shoes... any shoe will do! Each one of us can make a difference. Together we are unstoppable. Join other walkers and learn what inspires them to walk to END STIGMA and raise awareness.

In partnership with the Durham Community Foundation's Walk for YOUR Cause.

Epic Golf Challenge

Once upon a time, there were 36 golfers who said “HECK, YES I want to play 36 holes of golf.” Through sore arms, lots of lost golf balls, and an EPIC trophy, a fellowship of golfers was found and the Epic Golf Challenge was formed.

Each year, golfers register in foursomes and pledge to raise $1,500 each golfer to help support our local Epilepsy Clinic and Because We Care initiative!
