Happy New Year Everyone,
I hope you had a really wonderful Christmas holiday.
It's hard to believe that we are mid-way through January, with this cold weather, I'm longing for an afternoon in my backyard sitting in the sun and listening to the sounds of summer, lawn mowers, birds, kids.... Ah. I'm looking out of my office window right now and the cold wind is blowing snow and the little birds away from my birdfeeder. I have to go outside shortly and I know that that wind is just going to bite my cheeks.
I just wanted to remind everyone about our upcoming launch of our new EDR Blog, we are celebrating Family Month throughout the month of February and would like you to be part of it. I know it's a different approach, but epilepsy affects everyone in our families and we would like to hear from them. How about sharing your stories, sad, funny, frustrating, about living with epilepsy.
Thank you to 14 year old Johnathan for your story. I know everyone will really enjoy hearing of your experience caring for your little brother. Your story doesn't have to be too long, only 200 words or so. Ideally a sibling, grandparent or moms and dads would write the story; it's about epilepsy from a family member's perspective.
I hope you will consider joining us. It's a new year and I really hope to engage as many people as possible in Epilepsy Durham Region.
We are at the Science Centre tomorrow, taking part in an exhibition about epilepsy, so please join us. We will be there 10:00-3:00. If you have a purple EPILEPSY MATTERS t-shirt consider wearing it and showing everyone in the Science Centre we matter.
Take care, keep warm and hope to see you tomorrow.
