EDR visits the Epilepsy Classroom
Epilepsy Durham Region had the privilege of visiting The Epilepsy Classroom at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. During our visit we were able to meet the health-care professionals, educators, and professionals that make this classroom a successful environment for students to learn and grow. All students in the classroom have epilepsy so there is a wide range of seizures and learning hurdles present. For many children, being in the Epilepsy Classroom at Sick Kids is the first time they have been accepted; this acceptance allows most of these children to flourish into their own personalities and academically as well. It was extremely inspiring to see the dedication and patience of all the personnel working in the classroom and we are grateful to have been given the opportunity to see the classroom first hand.
