Epilepsy Awareness Month - March
Be part of this international movement.
Annual Walk of Courage – Sunday, April 14th, 2013
Join us at the South Oshawa Community Centre, 1455 Cedar Street, Oshawa, L1J 0A8 on Sunday, April 14th at 10:00 AM and help build hope for those living with epilepsy with every step. It doesn't matter if you're an experienced runner or walker; the 2km or 5km walk/run is designed to be achievable.
Participants can take part on their own team or as a team with friends and family. A free lunch and medals will be provided to all paid participants. Annual Charity Golf Classic - Thursday, June 20, 2013
Thanks to the efforts of sponsors, donors, volunteers and 110 golfers, the 13th annual Epilepsy Durham Region Charity Golf Tournament was another huge success, raising $20,000.00.
The event, which took place on June 21st, 2012 at Deer Creek Golf and Banquet Facility in Ajax, Ontario, welcomed hundreds of community members, golfers and dignitaries as they teed off for a chance to improve the lives of individuals living with epilepsy in Durham Region.
Register early for 2013 - don't be disappointed.
Pull Together for Epilepsy - Late September 2013, TBD
Join Epilepsy Durham Region for Family Safety Days in Clarington and watch teams of fire fighters and emergency responders pull a fire truck to benefit Epilepsy! There will be lots of fun for family and friends so come out and help raise awareness and funds for epilepsy and Lora's Legacy Fund.
Purplicious - October 2013, TBD
Initiated to help celebrate Epilepsy Durham Region's 25th Birthday, Purplicious offers guests the chance to taste the fares of Durham at quality restaurants at Whitby's Entertainment Complex (75 Consumer's Drive). Individuals snack on appetizers, have an opportunity to win door prizes, as well as bid on silent auction items all in support of Epilepsy Durham Region. Our hope is to make this an annual event.
Bingo – Ongoing
Bingo sessions are held twice per month at the Red Barn Bingo Hall at 72 Wayne Street, Oshawa. Saturday morning sessions 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please contact 905-430-3090 for a full list of dates.

The Community Partnership programme enables you, your business and community groups to join in the new wave to change the face of epilepsy by organizing events that are fun and meaningful to you. Your event is independent of our agency initiatives, you can become a Proud Supporter and 'change the face of epilepsy forever'.
Holding your own event is a great way to build community spirit and raise awareness for Epilepsy Durham Region. We can't make the change all by ourselves, we need your help!

If you require educational resource material or epilepsy awareness products for your event, please contact complete the form and fax back to our office three weeks in advance. We will make every effort to provide you with the necessary educational resource materials and post your event on our website, and where possible, contact the local newspapers to encourage highlighting your event.
